India-Myanmar-Thailand TRILATERAL HIGHWAY

 

Introduction

·         It is a regional connectivity project that Aims to establish road connectivity between India, Myanmar and Thailand.

 

Background

·         It was first proposed by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in April 2002.

 

About Highway

·         Highway cover a distance of about 1360 km from Moreh in Manipur, India and passing through Myanmar to Maesot in Thailand.

 

Implementing Agency

·         Ministry of External Affairs with the cooperation of External Affairs Ministries of Thailand and Myanmar.

 

Importance

It will enhance regional connectivity for the promotion of Trade and other services.
